Ms. Monica Woods, Principal
Welcome to Oak Springs PreK5-PreMed Science Academy, home of the Dolphins! On behalf of the staff, I am happy to welcome you to the 2018-19 school year! Our mission is to develop a community of learners who are academically proficient, effective communicators, and responsible citizens. With your help, we can achieve our mission.
The staff at Oak Springs believe in preparing all of our scholars for future endeavors. To do this, we offer a variety of programs: PALS Leadership, Safety Patrol, Color Guard Team, Ambassadors of Peace, Outreach, Garden Club, Music Memory, Music Club, and after-school academies (language arts, science and mathematics). The extended activities are designed to meet and enhance the needs of learners. It is essential that the staff and I provide opportunities for scholars that engaging and develop leadership experiences. The administrators, counselor, and CIS staff are here to support the needs of scholars.
We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by professors
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college
The staff at Oak Springs invite all parents to become active participants in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTA, or attending and supporting school events. Together, we will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children at Oak Springs Elementary School. Education is a partnership between the school, scholars, parents/guardians, and community. Children continue to show success when we work as a team to achieve educational goals. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.
Please consider volunteering, our scholars can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:
1) School-wide events
2) Scholar recognition events
3) Outreach and recruitment of parent and community volunteers
In closing, the staff at Oak Springs are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.
