Capital Metro, in conjunction with several community partners, is asking for the community's feedback about Bus Stop #2063 at the Southeast corner of 12th & Chicon. Artwork was installed in 2003 to celebrate the East Austin African American community and we are planning an upgrade in the coming year and would like the community's feedback about what they'd like to see.
The meeting is open to all and light refreshments will be served.
If you have questions, please contact Jordan.Smith@CapMetro.org.
We just wrapped up our 4th annual food drive last week! This year we joined forces with The Legacy of Giving and started collecting coats as well. It was a HUGE success! Prof Fairbrother's class took 1st place with over 600 coats and cans!!
On Friday, Dec 2nd, all of the schools participating in The Legacy of Giving came together at the Central Texas Food Bank to sort, count, and weigh their donations. Our final totals are: 1427 pounds of food and 125 coats. Each 1.2 pounds of food = 1 meal for someone in our community. Do the math and you'll see that our donation will provide 1189 meals!! What a feat! GO OAK SPRINGS!!!
Our 5th graders had the fabulous opportunity to visit Blackbaud at the Domain. They shadowed engineers, coded with programmers, and even got to share their games with the staff. It was definitely a treat to visit Blackbaud! Thank you for the awesome experience and hosting us! Really diggin' the strong female presence in #STEM! #AISDproud
