Professor Enriquez - 4th Grade Mixed Language1. How long have you been in your current position/teaching? I have been a teacher for 8 years. I began by teaching 1st grade, and I stayed at that grade level for 4 years. I moved up to 4th grade, and I have been at this grade level for 4 years. I absolutely love it! 2. What do you like most about your current grade/team? I love that my teammate, Ms. Esbrand, and I are in sync most days. We work together to keep our scholars motivated and moving forward. She keeps me sane, and I keep her laughing. (I hope.) 3. What is your favorite book and why? My favorite book is The Bible. It has so many different interpretations and translations. The main idea is to learn from your mistakes, and you should love and do good to all, for in the end, there is only one judge, and He is not of this world. 4. Tell us about your favorite part of Oak Springs. I love that we are small campus, so I know most of the children or at least a sibling. I like that our staff is like a big family where sometimes you put up with each other because you have to, and other times you really feel the love. I love that we all want our children to do well, no matter what the circumstance in their world may be. We're tough, but it is always about our kiddos. 5. If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be and why? I would read minds. This way I could know what my scholars are daydreaming about instead of listening to the lesson. (Ha!) 6. Fun fact! I have a part-time job that keeps me out of trouble on the weekends. Professor Esbrand - 4th Grade1. How long have you been in your current position/teaching? I have been teaching for 14 years. 2. What do you like most about your current grade/team? Prof. Enriquez and I work very well together! We have created systems to support one another throughout the years. We are always willing to help each other when the going gets tough. 3. What is your favorite book and why? My favorite book is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. It is a beautiful story about true friendship, sacrifice, and caring. I have loved it since my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Walsh, read it to my class so many years ago! 4. Tell us about your favorite part of Oak Springs. Oak Springs staff, scholars, and community feels like one big family. Coming to work each day feels like coming "home"! 5. If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be and why? I wish I could fly so I wouldn't have to sit in traffic on I-35 each day! 6. Fun fact! I play the flute. Professor Romo - 5th Grade Mixed Language1. My great-grandfather was one of 3 men to lead the Revolutionary War of Guatemala.. Professor Sanford - 5th Grade1. How long have you been in your current position/teaching? This is my 6th year at Oak Springs and 12th year teaching. 2. What do you like most about your current grade/team? The kids are independent. They make me laugh and I feel appreciated by them. They always come back to see me. I enjoy my new team member. He has great ideas and is very smart. 3. What is your favorite book and why? Baby Cheerful Tearful, because it was my first real book and is about a doll. 4. Tell us about your favorite part of Oak Springs. The staff feels like family. Everybody is supportive, warm, and friendly. 5. If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be and why? I would heal everybody of terminal illnesses. 6. Fun fact!
